On the film side, Spider-Man: No Way Home led the winners as it garnered three wins including Best Superhero Movie, Best Actor in a Superhero Movie for Andrew Garfield, and Best Villain in a Movie for Willem Dafoe. Florence Pugh also managed to win Best Actress in a Superhero Movie for her performance in Black Widow.

Meanwhile, on the television side, WandaVision led the shows with the most wins (tying with Squid Game) as it managed to win in three categories such as Best Superhero Series, Best Actress in a Superhero Series for Elizabeth Olsen, and Best Villain in a Series for Kathryn Hahn. Tom Hiddleston completed the MCU sweep as he also garnered a Best Actor in a Superhero Series win for his performance in Loki.

The science-fiction epic Dune, which is currently nominated for 10 Oscars, was able to nab two wins as it won Best Science-Fiction/Fantasy Movie and Best Actress in a Science-Fiction/Fantasy Movie for Rebecca Ferguson. Meanwhile, on the Best Actor side, Dev Patel won for his performance in The Green Knight. The HBO Max limited series Station Eleven won Best Science-Fiction/Fantasy Series as well as its star Mackenzie Davis in Best Actress while Snowpiercer's Daveed Diggs won Best Actor.

It is wonderful that these films and TV shows were recognized by the Critics Choice Association and we can pretty much agree that they are deserving of the honor. This also just shows that there were a lot of great genre films and TV shows that were released last year and it is worth celebrating the entertainment that they gave to us, especially as we are still dealing with the pandemic. It will definitely continue this year as more genre films and TV shows are set to be released.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage follows the story of Eddie Brock, played by Tom Hardy who is still struggling to exist with the shape-shifting extraterrestrial, symbiote, Venom. Because of this, Scarlett Johansson sued Disney for breaching her contract when it offered the movie on its Disney+ streaming service. After two months of dispute, Johansson and Disney have finally reached an agreement ending the lawsuit.
