The Issue

I am fed up with i-Ready. It takes up too much time, and I believe it is neither effective nor beneficial for students. This online learning tool, implemented in schools across the United States, is meant to enhance student learning and track progress. However, many of us feel like we are stuck on a never-ending treadmill, achieving little while wasting precious hours.

The time students spend on i-Ready could be better utilized in ways that encourage active participation and meaningful learning experiences. Instead of sitting in front of a computer screen, our children could be engaging in real-life problem-solving activities, interactive projects, and collaborative work. These alternatives not only improve learning outcomes but also keep students motivated and eager to learn.

Research indicates that tools like i-Ready often fail to address the diverse learning needs of students. They provide a one-size-fits-all approach that doesn't take into account different learning styles and paces. This can hinder a child's growth and undermine their confidence. Furthermore, the pressure and stress from excessive screen time can be detrimental to their mental health.

Schools should prioritize personalized and flexible teaching methods that cater to the individual needs of each student. Educators should have the autonomy to decide the best approach for their classrooms without being bound to ineffective software.

Please join me in urging our school districts and educational leaders to reconsider the usage of i-Ready in our schools. Let us work together to create a more dynamic, inclusive, and effective learning environment for all students. Sign this petition to make your voice heard and to help bring about the necessary changes for our children's education.
