The Issue

Guinea pigs are often overlooked in society. They don't get t-shirts. They don't get lots of toys. They don't get clothes. And now, Apple and other companies have gone too far by leaving guinea pigs out of the emoji selection! Guinea pigs offer us so much love and comfort. They cuddle with us after a tough day, they listen without judgment, and they are like little bundles of joy in our lives. It is high time that they received the recognition they deserve, starting with their very own emoji!

Emojis are an integral part of how we communicate in the digital age. They help us express emotions, represent our interests, and communicate in a universally understood language. Yet, despite their cultural importance, guinea pigs have been left out. This is not just an oversight but a disservice to the millions of guinea pig owners and enthusiasts worldwide who wish to proudly represent their beloved pets and companions in their digital conversations.

According to the American Pet Products Association, millions of households in the United States keep small animals as pets, and guinea pigs are among the most popular. With so many of these furry friends, it's high time they had representation among emojis. It's not just about an icon—it's about showing respect and love to creatures who have become part of our families. They deserve love too!

By adding a guinea pig emoji, companies like Apple or Google can show that they value diversity and inclusivity, recognizing all beloved pets equally. This small addition could open up a world of representations and could mean so much to those who cherish their guinea pig companions.

Adding to that, getting guinea pig emojis would set role models for younger children, because companies would show support for our furry friends. Children would knowits ok to like guinea pigs, and it might even help them understand the difference between guinea pigs and hamsters, which is important!!!

Let's give guinea pigs the spotlight they deserve. They do so, so, much for us that the least you can do is to please sign this petition to urge Apple to introduce a guinea pig emoji. Our furry friends want emojis, and they deserve so much more, but this is where it all starts. Thank you so so so so so so so so so much for signing! (P.S.  Please do not eat guinea pigs! they are precious!!)
