Hello. YAY!  We have 625 signatures supporting Cooke County requesting that the new Texas Broadband Development Office work directly with the rural counties as the office develops needs assessment, prioritization and investment of the $500 million (that is the budget number BDO is now using publicly) set asides for rural broadband.

There are several public events upcoming this month that will add signatures.  We can get to 750 signatures.  It’s important.  Adding broadband is a complex process.  Assessing the needs accurately is not easy.  Unless it is an inclusive and transparent process we will miss the mark by an error margin so wide the effort will be disappointing and people affected in a negative way.

Adding just 125 more signatures can be done.  We will submit the petition to the BDO in early March 2022, ahead of the office process formalization.  Please help get a few more signatures before closing.  THANKS!
