We have 507 signatures for petitioning Texas Broadband Development Director Greg Conte to engage with Cooke County and be transparent as his department evaluates, prioritizes and invests $600 million of our tax dollars in rural broadband.  Some signatures have come in postal mail from people who have no cell service in their home and keep a traditional landline just as a lifeline for 911.

I hope other counties do similar things to create momentum for this Broadband initiative to be transparent, for rural people to be informed and evolved rather than campaign donors and big companies meeting in conference rooms in Austin.

In any case, the effort to be civics in action counts.  Thank you.
