Get Capitol Records to push Katy Perry’s “Harleys in Hawaii” after its surge in popularity

El problema

Following a TikTok viral sound, Katy Perry’s 2019 promo single “Harleys in Hawaii” has seen an increasing potential to become a hit. With a tropical groovy sound, the song showcases Perry’s versatility and a new grown-up sexy side of the singer, which could really resonate with the general public.

The TikTok sound has now surpassed 70k videos on the platform, gaining more than 10k videos in the last 24 hours. The song has also quadruplicated its daily streaming numbers reaching +160k streams on Spotify on August 25th, being the song’s highest streaming mark this year.

Despite being a fan-favorite and having an amazing reception from both critics and non-Katy-Perry fans, Capitol Records ignored the song’s potential on its original release back in October 2019 and did not give it its deserved promo push.

Following the success of multiple non-singles from other artists that blew up thanks to TikTok (such as Doja Cat’s “Need To Know” which is now a Top 3 hit and a Top 10 hit on Spotify USA and Global respectively), Katy Perry fans are now asking the record label to support her and her song after clear signs of it having huge chances of rebounding the global-pop-star’s career and becoming her next big hit, ahead of her new Las Vegas Residency.
