Our Mayor of Georgetown, TX was kind enough to have a meeting with myself and the consultant Wildlife Biologist. We are very appreciative of his time and helping us with certain aspects of our campaign. The mayor is going to see how many signs can be put up on our main roads to warn folks of deer crossings. We simply don't have enough right now and folks do not drive the speed limit. When you drive too fast, you can't stop if a deer jumps out. Follow the law and don't speed, pay attention and put your cellphone down.
The heat is getting hot but we can take it. One of our group members was threatened last week and wanted to quit the campaign. After talking with them, they decided that they were entitled to stand up for what they believe and we are proud to support them. The reason why this nonsense has gone on, for so long, in Sun City is because the people bullying, threatening and censoring have had their way for too many years. This is a community and all community members deserve to live in this community without hearing the deer screaming from nets we DO NOT WANT TO SEE in our backyards and on the main arteries of our community roadside. It is a hinderance to the sale of a home and devalues the surrounding properties. Lastly, if netting is such a great idea why are there no photos posted on the Sun City website and the builder, Pulte's pictures at their sales office? I know, because they know that people would not want that anywhere near their new home/existing home.
I am posting a great resource for those who are interested in learning how to live with deer in their community. It covers a lot of topics and I am happy to share it with you. Please see the link below.

As always, thank you to every single person who signs this petition. There were only 8 permits issued last year in the entire state of TX for deer netting. That is not many, you know why? Because people don't like it. Hunters can get a license to hunt during the proper time and I have no objection to that but to net heavily pregnant deer and yearlings, with the occasional buck, in my opinion is just savage. This is important to your community too....don't let this start and you will never have to be in the position we are today, fighting for the barbaric and inhumane practice to stop.
