On August 12th, the Local School Council (LSC) at George Washington High School voted to remove their Student Resource Officers (SROs). Thank you for signing and sharing this petition! We made this happen together. Though we as a local community have won this battle, unfortunately citywide we have not. The Chicago Public Schools (CPS) Board of Education voted to keep its contract with the Chicago Police Department (CPD). We know this movement of defunding and abolishing police does not stop at our school, so it's important we continue to fight for justice in all CPS schools. We love and appreciate the support you've already given us, let's keep that same energy and move forward together with this citywide movement. "The people united will never be divided."
