#TamponTax may be here until 2022: @PhilipHammondUK please fight to reduce this date!

Hello amazing campaigners!!! Last week was a HUGE week. The EU published long overdue taxation reforms, including a review of EU-wide tampon tax laws. It was announced that their decision to allow all member states to reduce their tampon tax rates to the lowest levy possible, including 0% across the UK, will not come into effect until 2022. As we are leaving the EU our position becomes a little more complicated. Although Brexit will happen on 29th March 2019, our transition period is expected to last until the end of 2021 meaning we could be stuck with the tax for many years to come. BUT Britain can fight this. Our previous government made lots of noise to end tampon tax as quickly as it could, and David Cameron made huge strides in pushing this agenda forward. The Labour Party have already committed to ending tampon tax AND period poverty if they gain power and the Scottish Government have put unprecedented policies in place to do the same. With so many other political forces on side, we need our Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond to push this forward. Period!
