Hello lovely people!!!! We are really excited to be launching a new sister petition with ‘The Period Project South Africa NPC’ that will lobby the South African government, challenge the period taboo which is significant in South Africa and aims to end tampon tax ASAP. Woop woop! It is estimated that around 7 million girls in South African alone regularly miss school because sanitary products are too expensive to purchase. Tampon tax (set at 14% across the country) only lessens the accessibility of this vital product while it further entrenches sexist normalities in the process. It’s time to axe the tax both here in the UK and alongside our sisters in South Africa.
