Hello lovely people!!!! A LOT has happened since our Government vowed to spend a maximum of two years implementing the axe of tampon tax – and most news hasn’t been great. But don’t worry. We’re on it. We are about to launch something BIG to help tackle this two-year challenge that we CANNOT WAIT to share with you. More information to come… In the meantime, here’s yet another reason to keep fighting. Last week, Californian governor Jerry Brown VETOED a bill that was set to end tampon tax – period. His reasons? Well, he helpfully mansplained that axing such a tax would ultimately cost the state money. Essentially: he legitimised state capitalisation of systemic and unashamed sexism. Brilliant. Just what you want from your elected governor… (or not!) We’ve worked too hard over the past two years to let this campaign go sour now. There’s a mountain of work to be done, but together we can change the way women are unfairly discriminated against both here in the UK and further afield. With the launch of our new project in the coming weeks, we intend to do just that, and hope that you will join us, too! Laura :)
