Call to Action; Vagrancy & Crime on East Admiral Blvd in Tulsa, Oklahoma

The Issue

Subject: Urgent Action Needed to Address Rising Crime, Vagrancy, and Substance Abuse in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Dear Community Members,

We must urgently address the alarming rise in crime and vagrancy plaguing the area of East Admiral Blvd, between Sheridan and Memorial Dr, in Tulsa, Oklahoma (74115 area code). This significant issue has had a detrimental impact on our entire community, including businesses, residents, and entertainment establishments. The prevalence of drug use and trafficking has reached alarming levels, warranting immediate attention.

Incidents of burglaries, break-ins, and squatters taking over parking lots have become commonplace, even affecting operational businesses. If left unchecked, this community risks losing its vibrant business scene, forcing long-standing residents to relocate. Furthermore, the overall deterioration of the area will exacerbate the problems faced by our community.

Of even greater concern is the safety of our children growing up in this area, as they have become targets for predators. The trust we once had in the security of our homes and the safety of local shopping has been shattered. Regrettably, businesses have already started closing their doors due to these issues.

Therefore, it is evident that a collective effort is urgently required to address these pressing concerns and restore the wellbeing of our community.

Tulsa is currently facing a crisis of substance abuse and homelessness, which directly contributes to increased crime and a decline in residents' quality of life. We humbly request the city and private sector to take immediate action by increasing police presence in the area. Additionally, we propose refurbishing the Galaxy Warehouse as a combined Treatment Center and Homeless Shelter—a facility that can provide much-needed support to those struggling with addiction and homelessness.

By implementing these crucial steps, we can restore safety and security to our community while offering vital support to those in need. We urge you to bear in mind the significance of this issue and join us in calling for the necessary action to address the rising crime, vagrancy, and substance abuse concerns in our beloved community.
