Subject: Update on Property Procurement and Community Petition
Dear Crista,
I hope this email finds you well. I would like to provide you with an update on our efforts to address the issues of drug trafficking, vagrancy, and crime in the distressed areas of East Admiral Pl.
I recently spoke with Assistant Chief Jeff Wacoche, who informed me that the property in question is currently in the procurement process. Contractors are being contacted, and plans are underway for the demolition of one building and the refurbishment of the other for use in a Substance Abuse program. The Assistant Chief also mentioned that he will be visiting the site within the next few days.
I want to express my gratitude for your prompt attention to this matter. As mentioned previously, the presence of these buildings has been a major attraction for criminal activities, negatively impacting the community. While we are making progress on this specific location, it is essential to address the broader issue of crime, drugs, and vagrancy in the entire East Admiral Pl. area.
I would like to draw your attention to the circulating petition that aims to address these concerns comprehensively. The community has been actively signing and participating in this initiative, motivated to restore the businesses that have unfortunately shut down. If you haven't had a chance to review the petition, I encourage you to do so. The link to the petition was provided in my initial email.
Your support and services in this endeavor are greatly appreciated. Please feel free to reach out to me if there is anything I can do to assist in moving this matter forward. Together, we can work towards making East Admiral Pl. a safer and more prosperous community.
Thank you once again, and I look forward to our continued collaboration.
Best regards,
Joanna Ligon
