We are Iranian women and men. We oppose World Cup Teaser made by SNS of Samsung's Iranian branch. In spite of the pressures of the patriarchal society, Iranian women are actively participating in social positions, alongside men. For instance, although they have limited access to stadiums and sports resources, Iranian women won Asian Futsal and Karate championship in 2018. This advertisement limits Iranian women to the roles of mothers, wives, and friends. While men are depicted in a number of social positions, there is no social identity allocated to women. When around thirty thousand comments criticised this sexist advertisement, Samsung branch in Iran has completely ignored the opposers and to add insult to injury, keeps deleting these comments. We request SamsungIR to be responsive and delete this sexist advertisement.
