Children who live in the Oak Grove community along LaVista Road don't have safe sidewalk passage to get to their friends in other Oak Grove neighborhoods. Additionally, there is no safe passage for anyone to get to the stores and restaurants which requires many residents to drive, creating greater congestion in an already crowded corridor - especially on a Friday and Saturday evening. Nor access the new Frazier Rowe park.

The DeKalb County commission has put up $200,000 to fill in the sidewalk gaps along LaVista road from Oak Grove to Pangborn. However, they need GDOT to handle the drainage and other requirements. 

We need to show GDOT we want this neighborhood to be a more walkable and safer community.
