Khalsa Secondary Academy achieves outstanding GCSE results
Students at Khalsa Secondary Academy in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, which is a part of Khalsa Academies Trust are celebrating their outstanding GCSE results. Overall, 77% of students achieved a Level 4 or higher in both English and mathematics, and 58% achieved a Level 5 or higher by the same measure.
The Academy’s Attainment 8 figure of 53.76 and Progress 8 figure of +1.00 places it in the top 5% of all schools nationally, when compared with the most recent published national data (2019).
96% of students were entered for the English Baccalaureate, with 62% achieving a good pass and 39% achieving a strong pass.
A large number of students performed particularly well, including MS (with 5 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s), JS (4 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s, 2 Grade 7s), AC (4 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 3 Grade 7s), JM (3 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s) and CB (1 Grade 9, 6 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7). The students with the highest Progress 8 scores were SS and AK, both with a score of 4.01 and both of whom gained nine Grades 7 to 9.
Highest performing subjects at GCSE included Statistics (100% at Grade 5 and above), Italian (100%), Urdu (100%), Panjabi (91%), French (71%), Business (71%), English Language (68%), English Literature (66%), Mathematics (65%), Science (64%) and PE (61%). Progress scores for English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and Science, along with a host of other subjects, were all significantly above national and Local Authority averages.
