Stop Piedmont Lithium

Technologies, global mineral needs, economies and companies change quickly and unfortunately open pit strip mines do not and are often toxic reminders when things go terribly wrong.  Consider newer technologies being developed in the US and overseas such as Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) which do not require hard rock mining pits or lagoons to get higher quality lithium at lower costs without endangering the environment and displacing the local citizens.  Read this article about the challenges faced by this Montana town when the mining operation shut down and left the town with a contaminated Superfund site since the 1980s.
