Thanks to everyone for reading, learning, and helping us oppose a proposed open pit strip lithium mine in our beautiful Gaston County, NC.  Momentum opposing the proposed** mine is growing locally as well as nationally with your help reaching nearly 1,000 educated and concerned voices saying "NO TO DESTROYING GASTON COUNTY."  Many many generational families are being forced to sell their land and lifestyles for a mine that represents less than 1% of the anticipated annual need for lithium while our great trading partners in Chile, Australia and Argentina have far greater lithium reserves (est. 20X) available to supply the US and world.  New technologies and companies are working hard daily to develop alternate sources of lithium in brines, clays, and our oceans. Yes, it does cost more but the profits are huge. 

Attached is a link to opposition for another lithium project in the US located at Thacker Pass.  Please take time to understand this greater agenda is simply transferring one environmental risk for another environmental risk - remember Newton's Third Law on action & reaction - "...that for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction."  Let's not destroy what makes Gaston County a beautiful place to live and work for less than 1%.   

** proposed operation will need to complete a rezoning process with government and public input, will need a NC Mining permit, and possibly a Title V Federal Air permit for the proposed separate chemical processing plant.
