High gas prices affect us in WV more than most places. Because we have to drive so far each day for school, work, and basic activities, these gas prices are putting a huge squeeze on our family finances. 

We strongly urge Governor Justice, Senate President Blair, and Speaker Hanshaw to put gas tax relief on a special session agenda this summer. Our people need relief right now! 

We can do it in one of two ways, either by pausing the state gas tax or by offering a rebate to registered motor vehicle owners. 

We have the money to afford this with over a $1.1 billion budget surplus. We need to use the surplus to help our people right now.
