Save Woodside Ferry Action Group
25 Jan 2016
Members of the Save Woodside Ferry Terminal Action Group, today met with Councillor Liam Robinson, Chair of Merseytravel and his officers. We had a positive and open discussion about potential ways forward that will reduce operating costs and increase revenue at Woodside Ferry Terminal. We will now establish a working group with Merseytravel and interested parties that will include potential developers, and continue to work together and secure a sustainable future for Woodside Ferry Terminal.
Councillor Jean Stapleton, spokesperson for the group, said “I’m very pleased with the way the meeting went this morning. What the conversation established was that we are all committed to finding the right model to sustain the future of Woodside Ferry Terminal, and we will work closely with Merseytravel towards that goal.”
Vicky Nowak, speaking on behalf of the group, said “I’m very positive that this new working group will be effective in developing a positive plan for the future of Woodside
Ferry Terminal that will protect our local heritage and support the regeneration of
Birkenhead town centre.”
