End the most destructive fishery in the USA! The Menhaden Reduction Industry!

The Issue

Eliminate the Menhaden Reduction Industry. Two companies are Canadian-Cooke Inc/Omega Protein and South African-Oceana/Daybrook Fishery. Combined they are killing 2 billion pounds of the most important fish in the Ocean. Collateral Damage is 400 million pounds of bicatch including 100 species. They kill hundreds of dolphin and net whales too. Eagles, Osprey, all sea birds and 100 species of fish need Menhaden for essential nutrition. These companies have been protected by the Gulf State Marine Fishery Commission, Ocean Springs, MS. They decieve the public by using falsified scientific reports. GSMFC is guilty of Gross Scientific Malpractice. The State Agencies that issue the license are guilty of gross mismanagement of natural resources. Omega Protein and Daybrook are breaking "Jones Act" -No Foreign Entity may own American Flag Ships and operate for commerce in US Waters. They are breaking Migrant Farm Workers Act and guilty of  gross human rights violations. They pollute the same water they fish and the Board of Directors has been on consecutive probation's from the Justice Department. Omega Protein has had multiple class action lawsuits for falsifying Security Exchange Reports and lying to investors.   Omega Protein has more wrongful deaths than any industry in the USA. 1 to 3 every year in a company of 300. The national average is 28000 to 1.

Now Omega and Cooke are using a marketing company MSC-Marine Stewardship Counsil to provide them with a sustainable stamp on their products. This is another deception. MSC does not go on the boats, they do not go fishing with these companies. MSC does not take into account the bycatch or the Dolphins killed or the collateral damage. They do it for 15 million dollars a year which increases profits by deceiving the conscience purchasing public into thinking they are buying the correct product.

The Mississippi Sound is an algae breeding phenomenon. Omega takes 300 million pounds in MS State waters alone. They are killing all of the fish here. There are 5000 dolphin that call these waters home and when Omega is done they must leave for lack of food. The Dolphin on the photo I found after watching the Omega boats work near my house.
