Dear Friends, Thank you so much for your continued support. It has been well over a year since I began this campaign and it is with no less outrage that I write this update. Firstly, I would sincerely appreciate your support of the Boycott GAP Inc. Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/boycottGAPInc/ ) and on Twitter (https://twitter.com/boycottgap). I knew it would be challenging to convince GAP Inc. to go fur free, but I did not expect so much time to elapse without recognition from GAP Inc. that adequately addresses our concerns. However, I will never give up on this campaign and we have plenty of reasons to be optimistic about our fight for fur-bearing animals. Many months have passed since an empty promise from a GAP Inc. representative, who suggested that the corporation was actively working to ensure that the fur policy at INTERMIX aligned more closely with that of other GAP brands (i.e. fur free). She assured me she would be in touch a couple weeks later, but this phone conversation turned out to be our last. I have reached out to other representatives with no success, which is why I am now working on a letter to all GAP Inc. executives. This letter will detail many topics including our frustration by the lack of responsiveness on behalf of a corporation that readily touts its commitment to customer opinion, outrage at the endorsement of the barbaric fur industry, and the growing boycott of all GAP Inc. brands. Additionally, GAP Inc. just released their Global Sustainability Report, in which the CEO publicly details his commitment to creating a more responsible and environmentally friendly corporation. GAP Inc. CEO Art Peck writes, “We’re not perfect, but what I can say without hesitation is that we are committed to this work. We’re striking up new partnerships, investing in new strategies, and testing new ideas”. While GAP Inc. should be recognized for its effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, this effort at rebranding is extremely transparent. GAP Inc. stock prices have fallen precipitously over the past year and this is an effort to get GAP Inc. brands the attention they so desperately need. The last thing GAP Inc. needs is a successful boycott, which is why I implore you to continue to follow this campaign, boycott all GAP Inc. brands (Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta, GAP, and INTERMIX), and spread the word to friends and family. As GAP Inc. struggles to make a profit, the most effective thing we can do is to continue to voice our concerns, to educate others about the barbaric fur industry, and grow the GAP Inc. boycott effort. As a reminder, executives are aware of this campaign and our desire to see all GAP Inc. brands go fur-free. The bottom line is that the more dollars we keep from GAP Inc., the louder our voices become. Please help me continue to fight for the animals! Thank you for the bottom of my heart. - Sarah What you can do, today and each and every day that you have a moment to stand up for animals suffering at the hands of the fur industry: 1) Call the GAP Inc. corporation number at 1-800-427-7895. Say "more options" and then "customer relations". You will then be directed to a representative. Please explain that you are calling with feedback for GAP Inc. Explain that you are outraged by the sale of fur at their INTERMIX brand and that you have joined a boycott of all of their brands until they become fur-free. Please be polite and add any of your own information or details you would like. 2) Click to Tweet @GAP: http://ctt.ec/SC3B3
