Many thanks to all of you for your long standing support of this campaign over the past few months. Although Gap Inc. is not fur-free, I have been told repeatedly that our voices have been heard by high level executives. It has been months since a representative offered to speak with me, but my support for this campaign is unwavering. Although spring has arrived and fur coats, vests, hats, and other items are no longer as visible to remind us of the unnecessary suffering endured by fur-bearing animals, please help me remind Gap Inc. that we have not forgotten about our mission. The number of fur items on the Intermix website has decreased from 17 to 5, but this is not enough. We want GAP to join the growing list of corporate retailers who have gone fur-free. Please continue to help me speak up for those without a voice by: 1) Calling Gap Inc’s main corporate office in San Francisco at +1-650-952-4400. Here’s a sample script: “Hello. My name is XXXX, and I am calling to urge Gap Inc to go completely fur free. In the past, I have shopped at your stores, such as XXXX and XXXX, and I am disappointed to hear that Gap Inc does not yet have a consistent fur-free policy across all of its companies. In September, your spokesperson stated that Gap Inc. was committed to the humane treatment of animals when Gap Inc announced that Piperlime would stop selling fur, but fur from foxes, raccoons, coyotes, and rabbits are still being sold by Intermix. Before being skinned for clothing and accessories, animals are usually beaten or electrocuted. If Gap Inc is committed to ethically sourced products and most of Gap Inc's stores are fur-free already, why not hold all your stores to the same standard? Thank you.” 2) Tweeting at @GapInc and @Intermix something like: "It's 2015 and @GapInc still hasn't committed to a fur-free policy for all of its stores, including @INTERMIX: https://www.change.org/p/gap-inc-is-selling-kangaroo-fox-rabbit-raccoon-dog-and-mink-fur" 3) Commenting on a Facebook status or photo by Gap Inc. with your comments, such as: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gap-Inc/143767352335568 “In September, Gap Inc. said it supported “the humane treatment of animals,” but Intermix stores still sell fur vests, boots, and jackets made from foxes, coyotes, raccoons, and rabbits. Please implement a fur free policy for all of your stores: https://www.change.org/p/gap-inc-is-selling-kangaroo-fox-rabbit-raccoon-dog-and-mink-fur” Thanks so much for your support, and let’s hope we win soon!
