9 months on and we hit 15,000, and seem to have taken a resurgence, gaining nearly 1000 in the last week or so, so who ever is spreading the word and where ever you are doing it, thank you! A LOT has changed since this petition first hit the internet. A lot has changed since it was at 10,000 signatures. In that time we have seen a massive amount of 40k releases, WHFB End Times come and go and WHFB itself be replaced by Age of Sigmar. As well, we haven't had a single 40k FAQ, and the new system for AoS is highly debated. I am not going to pass judgement on it here, but it seems as of now its openness is solely driving at casual narrative play.More importantly we have also seen two sets of GW financial reports (http://investor.games-workshop.com/) with continued drops in revenue and profits. I want to be clear, this Petition is aimed at stopped those losses. It is meant to serve as a wake up call to a company I, and believe most of us, want to see succeed. I will say that we may have accomplished one thing. The new CEO Mr. Rountree has called for a complete reassessment of the product line and a greater range or price points in the latest financial report, which ties into point #2. Additionally, they seek to expand the player base through new outlets, tying in with 3 somewhat. However, the plan he discussed to achieve this is questionable in its logic (http://bit.ly/1ghx5DM) There may be hope yet. With all that said I am going to reiterate the 5 points in a bulletized form for you to share. This Petition is telling GW to support its customer base by 1- Maintaining well balanced, well updated rules designed for both narrative and competitive play, to let myself, the gamer and hobbyist, decide how to best enjoy Warhammer. 2- Support Independent Retailers (FLGS), Conventions, and Tournaments. This is where your fans are at, go out and support their hobby there. 3- Competitively price your products. In a realm of X-wing, kickstarters, and ever growing competition, exorbitant costs bar entry or continued support for many people. 4- Remodel your website to be a mecca of hobby featuring a store, rather than just the store itself. 5- Communicate with your playerbase. Market research, trial rules, previews, a social media presence. All of these will make you more relatable and keep us engaged.
