Despite being designated as a 'Protected Structure' by Galway County Council – more than a year ago – Sean Thornton and Mary Kate’s iconic ‘wee humble cottage' continues to lie abandoned and in ruin. NOT ONE SINGLE THING has been done to secure the site from further ruin since the heritage designation on 20th July , 2015 – making something of a mockery of the entire process(?)
