In 1984 Akira Toriyama began writing his legendary Dragonball Manga. Back then no one expected this manga to transform into such a universally popular media franchise. The West did not receive a complete English Dub of the anime until 1995 when FUNimation picked up the project and proved that they do an excellent job when it comes to Voice acting and translating not only the words, but the cultural differences between East and West.

But before Toriyama grew to international fame with Dragonball, he was already well known in Japan for his masterpiece Dr. Slump. Anyone who has watched Dr. Slump knows that it has a unique charm and humor that entertains both adults and children. While the West did receive a release of the 1997 remake that significantly differs from 1981 show, we have never seen any English dub of the 243 original Episodes except for a failed attempt by Harmony Gold of the first few episodes.

I believe the West deserves an English Dub of this masterpiece and that there is no better Studio for it than FUNimation as they have already dubbed a variety of Dr. Slump characters during its crossover with Dragonball. Therefore I urge you to sign this petition in hopes of reaching out to FUNimation, Toei Animation and Akira Toriyama to show them that there is a demand for the original Dr. Slump in the West.
