As a resident living by the shore, I witness the effects of erosion on our beloved beaches and the environment. The situation calls for a sustainable, environmentally respectful solution - a living shoreline. 

Living shorelines act as natural buffers between community lands and the ocean, using plants and other natural elements—rather than concrete—to stabilize coastal areas. Besides protecting against erosion and flooding, they boost natural habitats and improve water quality. However, these structures come with financial costs and require adequate funding.

With this petition, we implore local and federal authorities, and environmental organizations to prioritize the installation of a living shoreline in Sea bright, and eventually across the shore, by getting the federal government to provide aid. The wellbeing of our communities, as well as the survival and adaptability of local ecosystems, is on the line. The cost might be financial today, but the cost without action is irreplaceable damage.
