Greetings to you,
The fight continues! Now it is time to email our politicians. You can find a list here:

This is a letter I drew up but feel free to write your own. The most important thing is numbers. The more emails an MP receives, they more they will realise how much support an issue has.

Dear
I am writing to you to express my great concern at the potential closure of Trove, the online archive hosted by the National Library of Australia. Funding for Trove ends in July this year.
Trove contains six billion items including newspapers, images from the early history of Australia, diaries and letters, audio recordings and a collection of web sites that are no longer online, among much else. It is used by academics, researchers, writers, family historians, students and anyone who has an interest in Australia’s past. It receives more than 20 million hits a year.
This treasure house of Australia’s past is accessible to all Australians. In the one site, we can delve into the past, learn about our family’s genealogy and gain a greater understanding of our collective history. In one place, we can all look into our past and discover who we are.
Shutting down this extraordinary resource robs Australians of the chance to know and understand ourselves. It offers this no matter whether you live in a regional and rural area or capital city. It is a vital part of Australian culture and knowledge.
I ask you to fully fund this core part of Australian history and heritage, and so give all Australians the chance to learn and discover through Trove.
Yours sincerely,
Now get emailing!
Pete
