Dear supporters,
Thank you to everyone who signed our petition calling for full transparency on the £32,000 (24%) pay rise for the Chief Executive of Clackmannanshire Council.
The pay rise has already been approved, but now the council has imposed a 5.6% council tax rise on local families, in part to help fund it.
This puts even more pressure on households already struggling with rising rents, energy bills, and the cost of living. Many families now face the harsh reality of choosing between heating, food, or other essentials.
Local facts highlight why support is urgently needed:
Around 1 in 4 children in Clackmannanshire live in poverty.
The area remains among Scotland’s most income-deprived communities.
Demand at food banks is rising as families struggle to make ends meet.
An open letter was sent to MSP Keith Brown, asking him to support a council tax freeze — but it was ignored.
Because of this, we stand alone as a community, but we will not leave local families without support. That’s why we’ve set up a donation page to support The Gate Food Bank:

Why donate?
100% of donations go directly to The Gate Food Bank, helping local families in immediate need.
Your contribution provides food, essential support, and dignity to those who need it most.
If you can, please tick Gift Aid so your donation goes even further at no extra cost to you.
We’ve shown that petitions and letters alone are not enough to make the council listen. But together, we can support our community directly, and that’s why this donation page exists.
Thank you again for your support. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference for families in Clackmannanshire.
Even when those in power ignore us, our community can stand together.
