Full Embargo on Israel – Von der Leyen Must Resign

Full Embargo on Israel – Von der Leyen Must Resign
The Issue
Petition:
Ursula von der Leyen to resign, impose an embargo on Israel in all sectors, and protect Palestine’s rights
To:
European Commission, European Parliament, European Council, EU Member States, UEFA, FIFA, Eurovision Organizers, International Olympic Committee, and all relevant international institutions
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, DEMAND:
1. The Immediate Resignation of Ursula von der Leyen
- Ursula von der Leyen has fundamentally betrayed the EU’s commitment to human rights, international law, and democratic accountability.
- She has provided unconditional political cover for Israel’s military aggression and system of apartheid.
- She ignored credible reports from the UN, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and others documenting Israeli war crimes and structural discrimination.
- Under her leadership, EU funding and partnerships with Israeli institutions linked to illegal settlements and military industries have increased, deepening EU complicity.
- She has openly undermined calls for ceasefires and accountability, acting in direct contradiction to EU treaties and values.
Her actions have eroded public trust and damaged the EU’s global credibility. She must resign immediately.
2. A Full Embargo on Israel – Political, Economic, and Institutional
The EU and its member states must impose a comprehensive embargo on the Israeli government and all entities complicit in the occupation and apartheid system.
This embargo must remain in place until:
- The occupation of Palestinian territories ends.
- The system of apartheid is dismantled.
- The creation of Palestine as a sovereign and independent nation has started.
- Israel fully complies with international law and UN resolutions.
This embargo must include:
- Total suspension of trade with Israeli companies involved in settlement construction, military production, or security infrastructure.
- Freezing of EU research, cultural, academic, and technological cooperation with Israeli institutions linked to the occupation or state violence.
- Blocking investment flows, freezing Israeli assets within the EU, and halting all financial transactions that support apartheid infrastructure.
- Visa bans on Israeli military officials, politicians, and corporate executives complicit in occupation and war crimes.
- Immediate suspension of Israel from all international platforms, including UEFA, FIFA, Eurovision, and the Olympic Games, until full compliance with human rights standards is verified.
Continuing cooperation with a state committing grave violations of international law is unacceptable.
3. Recognition and Protection of Palestinian Rights
- The EU must pressure all member states to formally and urgently recognize the State of Palestine.
- Dramatically increase humanitarian aid and reconstruction funding, especially for Gaza, and ensure it is delivered securely and without obstruction.
- Support the deployment of UN peacekeepers or international observers to protect civilians, monitor violations, and guarantee safe access to aid.
- Publicly condemn forced displacement, collective punishment, and attacks on civilian infrastructure.
WHY WE MUST ACT NOW
For decades, the Israeli government has acted with impunity. That impunity is made possible by the political, economic, and diplomatic support of powerful institutions—including EU, especially increasing under Ursula von der Leyen’s leadership.
Her unwavering defense of Israel’s illegal actions makes her directly responsible for deepening EU complicity in war crimes and apartheid.
We will not accept empty rhetoric. We demand:
- Resignation and accountability at the highest level.
- An immediate end to EU-Israel cooperation until apartheid ends.
- Real protection for Palestinian lives and rights.
ACT NOW–SHARE WIDELY
Every signature is a statement of conscience. Silence is complicity. It’s time for the EU to stop enabling oppression and start standing for justice.
Von der Leyen must go. The embargo must begin. Palestine must be protected.
