The Issue
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing as a deeply concerned and committed member of the Behchokǫ̀ community to urgently call for the immediate eviction of all known drug dealers and bootleggers from public housing within our community.
These illegal activities are not only against the law, but they are also actively destroying the health, safety, and future of our families, especially our children. Public housing is meant to provide safe, stable homes for people who need it most — not to shelter those who bring harm, fear, and chaos into our neighborhoods.
Residents have a right to live without fear of violence, addiction, or the influence of criminal behavior. We deserve to feel safe in our homes and to raise our children in a healthy, supportive environment. The continued presence of individuals who deal drugs or traffic alcohol illegally is a betrayal of this right and directly undermines the well-being of our entire community.
We respectfully urge the housing authorities and leadership in Behchokǫ̀ to take immediate and decisive action to evict all individuals engaged in drug dealing or bootlegging from public housing units. Let us take this step to reclaim our community and protect our future.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Community Member
