A bit of an update
It's not actually Manchester City Council that own the bee but rather the Mayfield Partnership so our attention will be turned to them.

The Bee was damaged by some wind in an extreme weather case we had in the city. The bee suffered a crack to its head. With the bee being made of fibre glass it wasn't as easy repair and a repair was quoted to them by Wild in art.
The quote must've come back too expensive or not a priority for the Mayfield Partnership to stomach as they decided not to repair the bee and it has not been on display since
Nicola even offered the Mayfield Partnership a free re-paint of the bee after the repair had been
Nicola is 100% behind our cause and has offered to repaint the Bee for me if I manage to obtain it for my local community
