UPDATE #51:

October 17,2024 - We at Youth for Animals have sent a petition to the High Powered Committee (HPC) constituted by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India under Retd. Justice Deepak Verma to oversee all matters pertaining to transfer of captive animals.

The request is to consider transferring both Shankar in the Delhi Zoo and Rambo in the Mysore zoo to a credible and well equipped sanctuary/rehab center in India. We have also provided the committee with a commitment letter that we have received from a reputed domestic sanctuary that is willing to house both these elephants. We hope the HPC will take note of the elephants' plight as both Shankar and Rambo are right now kept (1) solitary (2) in constricted spaces (3) & without specialized health management.
