Update and new petition

Last night I attended the Freehold Township meeting regarding the sale of the property at the corner of Elton Adelphia and Iron Bridge Rd. The property is owned by St. Robert's Co-Cathedral. They are selling the property to Renaissance Developers which plans to build 21-25 homes that will be priced at $750,000 (minimum).
The only way to prevent the rezoning and developmental that land is for the church to maintain ownership and continue as they have since they inherited it decades ago.
The Catholic Church has extensive land holdings all over the world. Selling land to property developers does not align with Catholic values and defies Pope Francis' call to preserve real estate holdings in a way that protects the environment. Please sign and share the petition to show the church and the diocese that this sale needs to stop. The church needs to seek out a sale or use that aligns with Catholic values.
What would Jesus do? Certainly not this. Preserving creation, especially land that is already surrounded on 2 sides by county parkland, is more in line with Catholic values. If you are a parishioner at St. Robert's (or within the Diocese of Trenton) please sign the new petition. You can also reach out to church leadership.
