On April 10, 2023, Coach Francesca “Frankie” Humphries  was wrongfully fired from her softball head coaching position.

During a softball tournament between 3/24-25, a player brought and used an illegal substance, along with 3 other players and their young volunteer coach (NOT the head coach). The girls were given various disciplinary actions and the volunteer coach was removed from the team. All seemed to come to a new norm, the girls were working harder than ever and it was paying off!

Over 2 weeks after the occurrence, administrators from Crystal River High School interrupted the girls softball practice and on the spot fired Coach Humphries with no factual evidence or witnesses to any wrong doing. Then immediately following, sat the remaining 11 girls and the assistant coach down to let them know they would no longer have their head coach and gave no reason as to why. This all took place the night before their big rival game against Citrus High, sending them away in tears. Now, the girls barely have enough players to finish their season, nor a 1st base coach. This is not fair or safe for the team!

These girls are on a time crunch, with only 5 remaining games. They have had a fantastic season, with more wins than ever!

Our hope is to open eyes of this county, to fix the wrong that has been done and let these kids finish off their season strong, with their coach leading them into victory!
