So close — Today the Court asked to weigh the medical evidence, but he’s still in Solitary

The court decided to
Postpone their decision until June 15th 2022
Require recent medical reports on Ahmad’s health and psychological condition
Extend Ahmad’s solitary confinement to June 15th
Ahmad Manasra has been held in Solitary for the past six months! His mental health condition is deteriorating. Ahmad needs your help.

Ask your Senators, Representative, or elected officials to make two calls on your behalf:
Call the Israeli Embassy to
- Immediately stop the solitary confinement of Ahmad
- Recognize that Ahmad was only 13 when arrested, not an adult
- Release Ahmad to the care of his family and doctors
Call the State Department or your Foreign Ministry to urge them to press for the immediate release of Ahmad Manasra.
The UN Convention on the Rights of a Child states children who are accused of breaking the law should not be killed, tortured, treated cruelly, put in prison forever, or put in prison with adults. Prison should always be the last choice and only for the shortest possible time. Israel signed that Convention, it is time for Ahmad to go home.

May 17 2022 Subject of the UPDATE:
Today is the Day! Email your Senators and Rep now. Keep Ahmad Manasra out of 6 months Solitary Confinement and ask for his release
Just hours ago, the Israeli Prison Authority requested that the Beersheba District Court extend the solitary confinement of Ahmad Manasra for another six months. The Court has until noon on Wednesday, May 18th to decide upon this request. Congress must act and demand that Amad Manasra be immediately released.

Send your email, then please call your elected officials. Use the script below.
There is a glimmer of hope: On April 13th 2022, Israel's Beersheva district court accepted Ahmad Manasra’s appeal and determined that the Special Committee on Parole was wrong to decide his status in absentia.
The Special Committee on Parole will meet with Ahmad and his attorney on June 19th to decide whether the offense attributed to the child Ahmad was an offense of terrorism
If this charge is removed, he will no longer be held as an adult. At last, the court will apply legal standards pertaining to children. They will be able to consider the psychology of children and Ahmad in particular.
Thank you for your concern. If you’re not in the U.S., call your own elected officials to ask them to call the Israeli Embassy and your Foreign Ministry too.
We’ve got to do this. Ahmad Manasra needs to go home.
Sincerely,
Palestine Global Mental Health Network
