The Issue

My partner, Scott Miller, has been wrongly convicted of a crime he did not commit due to false allegations made by an ex.
Scott and I have been together for 4 and a half years. These years together have been nothing short of amazing, yet now, our lives have been turned upside down, and our future that we had planned has been put on hold. Scott is nothing like what he has been made out to be and everyone who knows him knows this. He is the most loving, kind hearted, hard working guy and would do anything for anyone, always putting others first before himself.

He is now facing years behind bars due to a miscarriage of justice that occurred during a deeply personal custody battle to see his son. We are all truly heartbroken to say the least.

In the heat of the custody conflict with his ex, false accusations were levelled against Scott, accusations that should never have endured the scrutiny of the Scottish justice system. However, they did. They led to a trial that we believe was marred by bias and procedural injustices. Key evidence was overlooked, credible witnesses who could have testified in Scott's favour were not heard, and ultimately, Scott was sentenced for awful crimes he did not commit.

The impact of this wrongful conviction is devastating, not just for Scott and I, but for his whole family. The very essence of fairness, justice, and the presumption of innocence has been shattered, leaving a family torn apart and a child growing up without his father.

Scott’s case is not an isolated one. According to recent reports, there has been concerning evidence of procedural failings within the system that result in wrongful convictions. It is vital that these injustices are addressed, and never to be repeated.

We implore the Scottish justice system to re-evaluate Scott’s conviction, taking into full consideration all the evidence, including that which was initially dismissed or ignored. We are asking for a comprehensive review by the Justice Secretary and urge an immediate investigation into the procedural anomalies of Scott's trial.

This is a call for justice, justice for Scott, and for every individual who believes in an equitable legal process. By signing this petition, you support the call for a thorough review and a fair chance for Scott to clear his name.

Please join us in demanding a reassessment of Scott J Miller's case so that justice can prevail and a family can be made whole again. He does not belong in prison, so please help us get him home where he does belong.

Sign this petition to stand against wrongful convictions and champion a fair justice system.
