Subject: Abysmal Infrastructure causing daily commuting challenges to the IT Park employees and residents. Request immediate intervention from your department
Dear Sir,
This is to highlight that the poor infrastructure planning and execution for the largest IT park in Maharashtra had caused unimaginable stress on the current infrastructure and in the personal lives employees and residents. The FREE-UP-HINJAWADI campaign has highlighted the critical and immediate actions needs to be taken by various authorities including yours.
This petition is signed by more than 17,000 employees and directly addressed to the Hon. CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis this time because we have seen very little or no action from your department despite follow-up in the last few years.
IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED FROM MIDC.
Road Infrastructure repairs -Filling of the potholes at following places:
a. Madhuban Hotel to Phase 1 Chowk on both the sides.
b. Phase 1 to Smashan Bhumi Road.
c. Phase 1 Shivaji Chowk to Lemon Tree Road.
d. Phase 1 to Maan Gaon Road (Next to Godrej Property 100 feet patch).
e. Phase 2 Infosys Circle.
f. Phase 1 Radisson Blu to Jayaram Nagar.
Remove Bottlenecks:
a. Patch near Indian Oil Pump where because of Nalla the road is reduced by 1 lane.
b. Jambhulkar Chowk to Shivaji Chowk missing lane because of MSEDCL Boxes.
c, Shivaji Chowk left turn should be expanded in order to have more smoother left turn.
d. Near Fulcrum – one lane missing because of MSEB Boxes which need to be shifted.
e. T junction - one lane missing because of MSEB Boxes which need to be shifted.
f. Wipro circle 1 lane missing because of Nalla and Air-valve, powerline tower in the middle of the road. This will lead to encroachments on this section as well.
f. Phase 2 Infosys Circle – Reduce the Rotary in order to create one lane.
Bus Stop removal and shifting
a. Shift the Phase 1 Bus Stop by 200 meters towards Wakad side.
b. Shift the Phase 2 Infosys circle bus Stop from the rotary circle (you can implement the same guidelines as Wipro circle).
Encroachments
Majority of the mobility issues are caused due to encroachments on the roads and footpaths by stalls and mobile food-junctions across the IT Park. We have repeatedly noticed inaction of your department against these encroachments. This to highlight the following places where encroachments need to be removed on priority
a. The entire footpath is missing and being encroached from Phase 1 to DMART (Both Sides).
b. Phase 1 Shivaji Chowk to Mezza 9 both sides footpath is badly designed and missing.
c. Phase 1: All Footpaths next to Cognizant, Symbiosis are being encroached.
d. Wipro Circle: Both side of the rotary and newly developed lanes are being encroached by the Mobile fruit vendors vans and food stalls.
e. Phase 2: Infosys Circle is encroached by the all small food vendors causing huge traffic pile up each day.
f. Roadside encroachment next to DLF/Quadron Phase 2.
g. Encroachment on the road in Phase 3: TechM, TCS Entry gates.
h. Encroachment next to iGATE and Cognizant company gates.
Closure of unwarranted road punctures:
MIDC should conduct the proper traffic management workshop and detailed study with the traffic officials and close the following unwanted punctures immediately.
a. Punctures from Madhuban Hotel to Phase 1 Shivaji Chowk.
b. Punctures from Mezza 9 to Phase 1.
c. 2 unwanted punctures from Phase 1 to Maan road (Next to Persistent).
d. Closure of the punctures next to Emcure.
e. Building all road dividers from Wipro Circle to Phase 1 (as current dividers are hardly 3/4 inch of height which is allowing buses to easily cross the road to the wrong side.
f. Puncture next to Karol Baugh Dhaba is illegally opened and must be closed immediately.
Hope to see the MIDC IT Park area encroachment free and bottleneck-free in a month’s time with drive able roads and walk able footpaths
