Free Travis Irby,at age 16 sent to adult prison for (64) years ~No Murder!!!
The Issue
HELLO!
I've been incarcerated since November 27, 2006, for armed home invasion and a separate robbery in which none of the charges I'm proud of (all convictions are public record)... And after serving two decades on my (64) year prison sentence for non-murderous crime(s) immaturely committed when I was just a juvenile I decided to file a petition for a Conditional Pardon(December 2021).
For several reasons I believe that my petition would warrant executive clemency with the primary reason being that I'm no longer the same person or child I used to be nearly two decades later, in which my progressive transformation from negative to positive throughout the years may indicate (Good Behavior, Intense Programming, Volunteer Work, Donations,ECT.). Secondly, because I have a biological son that's in need of parental guidance whom now is currently in the same phase I was when I got mixed up with the wrong crowd that ultimately changed the trajectory of my life. He needs me! Thirdly, because unfortunately due to my lengthy prison stay my parents have aged and I have lost all but one of my grandparents in which my only elderly grandmother(born 1939) is hoping to see me walk out of prison before she closes her eyes!
Unfortunately, due to not enough publicity such petition was denied at the conclusion of only a short four month review/investigation which have consequently resulted in me legally having to set my sights on becoming eligible to refile again in a few years. The period that I will have to wait before refiling bodes well though, it allows me ample amount of time to continue building a stronger record that I trust will eventually lead to me finally starting an adult life back reintegrated in my community. It also allows for space to build even more support. I've matured/evolved tremendously in this strange place and have taken full responsibility for my co-defendent and my actions in my criminal case as a whole. I know that I'm ready and eager I am to earn my release!
After being incarcerated for two decades I have learned my lesson, and many legal experts, psychiatrist, and normal law abiding citizens disagree with me having served more time then in some cases where someone have actually committed murder! I'm in desperate need of your support for a Second Chance at liberty and by signing my petition your signature will serve as advocacy in support of my freedom in the Virginia's Governor's Office for executive clemency when I become re-eligible to file in APRIL 2025!!! In addition, if that endeavor is not successful, your signature will also support my parole package set to be filed to the Virginia Parole Board regarding Juvenile Parole that I will soon become eligible for in the year of "2026" as well.
What will my clemency petition/parole package consist of in it's entirety? A body of work that will depict the most transparent and honest revelation of my life's journey that provide plausibility for my inexcusable conduct without making any excuses! It will also encapsulate the extraordinary reason(s) for why such clemency petition/parole package should be worthy by illuminating my path of remorse, various efforts towards rehabilitation for self and others, and ultimately a blueprint of the work that God has set before me to do back in society with regards to mentoring troubled youth and employment!
I can only pray for your signature support towards rendering me a Second Chance appropriate so that when time for consideration is due I will be Ready Ready!!!
Thanks for your time and may God bless your heart...
Sincerely,
Travis T. Irby #1198558
