Our goal is to get transport on buses free for everyone under the age of 18. In local towns the Local Link buses run from Fanad through Rathmullan and Ramelton and stop in Letterkenny. Depending on where you get on it could be anything from €4 to €10, for returns. Not everyone has a job at this age and asking parents for money isn't ideal. Local teenagers are affected by this. The buses are handy because it doesn't rely on parents to be collecting and dropping you off, you can just hop on the bus. So, if we managed to get transport free for under 18s this would take financial pressure off parents and teens. It would also be more climate friendly and reduce emissions. We have to act on this immediately as it is a growing issue for young people, like ourselves.
