A FOUR YEAR AFTER ACTION REVIEW (AAR)
QUESTION TO MYSELF: After 4 years of administrative work involving this "FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM" online petition (or written register of supporters) what do I honestly believe that I have learned?
ANSWER FOR ALL: Disappointingly, I am fairly certain to report that there are probably no more than 5,000 registered voters at the most in the entire State of Florida who actually possess real knowledge of and an understanding of the "restore-the-Ocklawaha-River" vs. "retain-the-Rodman-Reservoir" issue -- and who are favorable to the idea of breaching Rodman Dam to enable restoration.
And truthfully I think that the number of knowledgeable Florida voters who are supporters of the restoration of the free-flowing Ocklawaha River movement is closer to 4,000 or even much less, maybe only 2,500 to 3,000 at its core.
So how does "Ocklawahaman" Paul Nosca arrive at this honest accounting of civic-minded adults residing inside the boundaries of Florida that want to see -- in their lifetimes -- a free-flowing-again 56-mile length Ocklawaha-Silver River system?
Very simply, I just add the 3,523 signatories of the "FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM" online petition to the 255 secret "yes" votes of the "Do You Favor the Breaching of Rodman Dam to Restore a Free-Flowing Ocklawaha River?" online poll for governmental employees to arrive at a subtotal of 3,778 folks who have stated their inclination via the internet as being for a free Ocklawaha River.
To the 3,778 aforementioned people "Ocklawahaman" Paul Nosca will boldly add another 222 possible sincere believers that Rodman Dam should be breached -- but who will not add their name to any listing initiative created by me because Paul Nosca is not a member of their "not-for-profit" liberal-leaning social clubs (or they supposedly are "non-biased" salaried media contributors or employees and can't ethically or publicly sign the petition) -- for an expanded-now maximum subtotal of 4,000 men and women that would like Rodman Dam and Reservoir gone soon.
Now I would be a liar if I stated that the Paul Nosca-created online petition plus the online secret-vote poll CERTIFIABLY contained absolutely NO out-of-Florida -- or even out-of-the-U.S.A. -- names and I would also be untruthful if I said that there are unequivocally NO duplications (like voting twice) in this tally! Accordingly I shall now subtract 1,000 from 4,000 to reach a likely total of perhaps 3,000 State of Florida voters who are indeed quite learned of this issue and who are positively in favor of the concept to "FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM!"
If you know of a more accurate listing anywhere of Ocklawaha River restoration supporters please let me know where it is as I will want to ensure that my name has been included in it. And if anyone else wants to create and administer a FOR-FREE $$$ written petition or register that includes the NAMES of State of Florida registered voters who seek the breaching of Rodman Dam then by all means proceed ahead with Godspeed and "Ocklawahaman" Paul Nosca will gladly sign your creation for you. After this (your) new list reaches 2,500 or so, then I will end my work on the "FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM" petition and happily and quietly go back to practicing my usual social-distancing activities of canoeing, exploring, fishing, hiking, and hunting the remaining wilds of Florida north of Interstate-4.
Most sincerely, "Ocklawahaman" Paul Nosca
