FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM
Jul 16, 2017 — UPDATE: There has been almost NO interest from any of the PETITION's signers wanting "Ocklawahaman" to relinquish administrative control of this PETITION to another entity (such as FDE). Accordingly, I shall continue -- at my own 65-year old pace in my available time away from my aches, pains, urology issues, and my other duties and responsibilities (and canoeing, fishing and hunting) where I can fit this project's needed hours in -- my solemn work to benefit these NON-HUMANS that need a sincere HUMAN to appeal for their interests: i.e., the Florida manatee, Atlantic-race striped bass, migratory channel catfish, Florida black bear and Florida panther, plus 20 or so drowned-by-Rodman artesian springs and the 56-mile length Ocklawaha - Silver River system itself. And I reckon that I'll persist in trying to do right by you, the PETITION's signatories -- in my dealings with SJRWMD and FL DEP. But please, don't hold your breath for the time being -- while I consume time greatly for this worthy cause! Because I hope that all you decent folks and ME too actually live (still breathing [and not on life support]) to SEE the breaching of Rodman Dam (a.k.a. Kirkpatrick Dam) for the benefit of the native Florida manatee, native Atlantic-race striped bass, native migratory channel catfish, native Florida black bear, native Florida panther, and all the other native Florida animals and plants that need a return or re-growth of their historic riverine, floodplain swamp, hammock and jungle habitats to begin for-true! NOTE: The PETITION still accepts new signatures while I negotiate with SJRWMD -- a very SLOW process! As of 1200 hrs EDT 7/23/17 there are 2,132 supporters of the "FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM" online petition. REMEMBER that I want to see Rodman Dam breached to restore a free-flowing Ocklawaha River. PERIOD! I have NO interest in starting another $$$-consuming non-governmental bureaucracy that "lives" forever without ever completing its appointed mission! IMPORTANT NOTE: "Ocklawahaman" Paul Nosca is a private retired citizen (a member of NO environmental organization) and does not seek $$$ and does not accept any $$$ contributions for the administration and promotion of his outdoorsman-individually-created petition! The State of Florida and the United States governments that own almost all of the Ocklawaha River's water and its submerged and corridor lands collect taxes from MOST all of us. Lets FOR-FREE $$$ encourage Florida and the U.S.A. to wisely follow the principals of ecology and FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM! When you join with the "Ocklawahaman" to "FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM" by signing the online petition FOR-FREE $$$ it costs you NO $$$. NO lawyers to payroll! Buy a backpack, BBQ dinner, canoe, or kayak with your DOUGH and enjoy the remaining segments of the free-flowing Ocklawaha River and its superbly forested jungle-like corridor. NOTE AGAIN: The PETITION still accepts new signatures while I negotiate with SJRWMD -- a very SLOW process! Most sincerely, "Ocklawahaman"
