Activists in Boston advocating for the release of Professor G.N. Saibaba will host a live-streamed discussion on September 9th, at 7:30pm (Eastern Standard Time). We will discuss Saibaba’s case, the situation in India, and ongoing organizational efforts in Boston in support of the campaign to release and defend Professor G.N. Saibaba. Please tune in to the live-stream this Saturday and link-up with our efforts to build an ongoing campaign in the US by participating in the live-discussion. We in the US have an important role to play in supporting this struggle, especially given the strengthening ties between the US and Indian regimes. For years US multinational companies (with the help of the Indian state) have worked to drive the adivasis (indigenous peoples) from their land in order to exploit natural resources there which are valued in the trillions of dollars. These efforts have also furthered military cooperation between the two states. Professor G.N. Saibaba is a leading voice in support of struggles of the adivasis as well as the struggles of other oppressed and exploited people in India. We will host a live-streamed follow-up panel event on September 23rd at 3:30pm (Eastern Standard Time) at the Democracy Center in Cambridge, MA.
