Free Neuty and Return Him to His Adoptive Family

Free Neuty and Return Him to His Adoptive Family
The Issue
On Thursday, March 16, 2023, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries agents confiscated a couple’s pet nutria because it's illegal to possess one. They made Denny and Myra Lacoste turn in Neuty, who they had nursed back to health after finding it motherless and struggling to walk near their home in Metairie. Since then, Neuty has become a well-known and much-loved pet around the area. He could frequently be seen riding in the family car with its head out the window.
Neuty is now scared and alone, ripped away from the only family he knows. He does not understand what he did wrong or why what happened happened. All he knows is he is not home, a place filled with people who have shown nothing but love and care to him since that fateful day he was saved by kind strangers. The Wildlife and Fisheries Department says Neuty will be sent to the Baton Rouge Zoo.
This all happened after WWL-TV innocently featured Neuty in a news segment celebrating his fame.
Hell, if some Louisiana politicians and authorities can get away with corruption and major infractions all the damn time since forever, what harm is it to let Neuty and the Lacostes live in peace as they have for many years?
Simply put, this is typical Louisiana bullshit. Neuty deserves better than authorities tossing him to the "streets" of a zoo. He deserves to be in his home.
Help Neutral Ground News free Neuty. He's one of us. He's as Louisiana as it gets. Sign this petition demanding his release back to his family. Let's get the decision-makers to make the right decision.
