Good morning,

Following the Sky News interview on Monday, we wanted to share a brief update on Lindsay and Craig's situation in Evin which remains extremely difficult. Recent executions have deeply affected prisoners, including Craig’s cellmate, whose brother was among those executed. Craig has described the atmosphere in the male political wing as volatile, where tensions can escalate very quickly.

Lindsay has spoken about coming to terms with the risks around her, particularly given the ongoing military strikes and the lack of safety measures in the prison. Despite this, she remains remarkably positive, saying she is focused on making the most of every day. She continues to support others using her background in positive psychology, creating a “Train of Hope” by placing daily messages of encouragement along the corridors. These have had such an impact that other inmates take them with them when they leave.

As the only foreigner in the women’s criminal wing, Lindsay has faced threats from some inmates who blame her for what is going on as she is a UK citizen. She has deliberately chosen to respond with kindness in all situations, saying this reflects who she is and how she wants to be remembered.

The family continue to press for their innocence to be clearly articulated. This means we need public recognition by the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary that they have been arbitrarily detained to unlock leavers to push for their release.

Thank you again for your continued support. We are grateful to see the petition growing, and your help in sharing their story and supporting fundraising efforts is hugely appreciated.

With our best wishes to you all this bank holiday weekend. From the Family and Friends of Lindsay and Craig.
