We would like to thank everyone who joined with us for a very special day to mark the terrible fact that Lindsay and Craig have now been imprisoned for 12 months. It is so awful that they have not yet been released, they remain un-sentenced and held in terrible conditions. But your support has given them some hope, they are both overwhelmingly grateful for the amazing way that everyone has rallied together to support them.  

The sing for Freedom event held in London on 3rd January included family and friends joining together to record the song “Stand by me” led by choir director David Lawrence. We then processed up Whitehall joined by other supporters and friends. Joe and his Auntie Sue supported by former Hostage Annosheh Ashoori, his daughter Elika Ashoori and Richard Ratcliffe then delivered the petition to no 10 Downing Street.

Inside the box with the petition were personal letters to Sir Kier Starmer and Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper requesting their direct intervention. We look forward to hearing their response. We asked them to personally intervene to urgently secure Lindsay and Craig's release and so we all need to redouble our efforts and keep up the pressure for them to act.
