Rather than celebrating with family and together as the happy couple they are in more normal times, Lindsay and Craig face a Christmas alone in their cells this year. In the past few weeks, they have finally been allowed to call their family more regularly. Whilst a massive relief to the family to hear from them at all, their messages from detention are bittersweet.  Yes, after months of silence there are more regular communications, but their families cannot help but notice that hidden beneath the relief and the loving messages are ever more anxious pleas for help – desperation to return to the families they love and miss. As Christmas approaches, the British couple face their first festive season behind bars, detained in horrific conditions without a fair hearing, without a sentence, their freedom stolen. 

The family continue to call for improved support from the UK Government and an urgent focus on their release: to stop ignoring us and start to act, specifically to Formally name this for what it is: the arbitrary detention of innocent British citizens asking them to intervene to secure their immediate release.
