Joshua was a bit more withdrawn today. He wasn't as interested in interaction. He was interested is using his cell phone. Unfortunately due to more " reports" from Duke staff to DSS, our phone call privileges were terminated and his cell phone was removed from him. I don't understand how this is sensible, moral, and especially legal?
Joshua used the phone for many purposes including as his primary Bible, school supplement, investment tool etc. How can they continue to impair Joshua?
They claimed he " seemed agitated " after our weekend phone calls. And this was enough to remove our ability to communicate? No judge, no jury no court order, no piece of legal paper. Just a command from a social worker.
Anyway, Isn't my son allowed to be "agitated " he sits in bed 24 hrs a day. Do they expect him to be always joyful? If I was in bed 24 hours a day , I'm sure I'd have my moments of agitation, sadness, pain, despair even. Joshua is a human being allowed his moods! How dare they pathologize his feelings? More senseless cruelty...
This is not America.
