The Issue

UPDATE- 2025: Since I started my husband's petition, God has blessed us in a multitude of ways. One being that Adrian earned his hours as a Re-Entry Peer Support Specialist and has been teaching for the TDCJ FORGE Pre-Release Program at Connally unit. He currently is teaching life skills to incarcerated individuals who were approved for parole and are about to be released from TDCJ. He was selected from many individuals to teach and has been a positive influence and change for so many, and his license is recognized by the State of Texas so he will be able to find employment upon his own release.

I also was able to participate at the first annual Parole Advocacy Day in Austin, which was hosted by Latino Justice. It was an amazing experience as I shared Adrian's story and petition with Courtney Doucet, legislative director for State Representative Dr. Alma Allen alongside legal fellow, Kirsten Budwine from the Texas Civils Rights Project.

I will continue to advocate for my husband in support of his release and bring it to as many people's attention as possible. My husband deserves to be fought for, and God continues to give me the strength and guidance I need. I will continue to tell his story and bring awareness to his situation on as many different social media outlets and platforms as possible. I was very grateful for the opportunity to share "FREE FIERRO" in the fall of 2024 live on The Prison Show.

I will never stop fighting for Adrian ... our family needs him, and I need him. I will forever be here baby until the cuffs come off!

OUR STORY: I remember sitting on my couch in my apartment, my husband across from me, and him asking if I would wait for him and without hesitation, I told him I would wait 50 years for him. Not knowing what our future held, both of us being addicted to drugs and turning to one another during our darkest and most vulnerable times.

I met Adrian while he was on the run, and immediately God told me to care for this man, to treat this man different. I even had his number saved in my phone as "My Guardian Angel." A few months ago, I even found a journal entry from July 2019, speaking of the first time he came over to my apartment and after reading it, I realized I loved this man from the start. He was the first man to truly make me feel like a person and he was patient and understanding with me. He taught me to not ever be afraid of anyone and to value myself.

LOL! He is the first person I ever made homemade tortillas for, Adrian laughing at me rolling him squared tortillas while I was listening to Z-RO. And randomly he would start dancing with me in our living room dedicating oldie songs to me: "I'm so proud to be loved by you..."  (I'm so Proud by The Impressions)

I started taking better care of myself, he stopped my IV drug use. He SAVED me from MYSELF and my demons! He helped me put my eyelashes on because I had no clue how to do that, but he helped me to gain confidence and to find my beauty again inside and out....

He became my whole world and gave me a purpose again as I started working on bettering myself. I had been homeless and strung out on Heroin and Meth, I got clean from Heroin in 2017 and had still battled with meth addiction. Before Adrian came into my life, I was on a downward spiral. God brought our paths together in July 2019 for a reason and I had never loved anyone like I fell in love with Adrian.

In March 2020, Friday the 13th to be exact, the day the government shut down everything due to COVID, my whole world fell apart. The US Marshalls and the EPPD Gang Task Force arrested Adrian as we were walking down the steps of our apartment. This was the VERY LAST day Adrian had ever used drugs!

Serving his sentence at TDCJ Prison- John B Connally Unit where he started out as a G3 in 2021, Adrian realized his need to change old habits and a negative perspective, Adrian recognized that his ONLY way to inner peace and freedom was to rebuild himself on a solid foundation through his Catholic faith. In search of lasting change, his journey began to self-love and becoming a better version of himself. Through his self-taught Bible studies and constant prayer, he began attending weekly mass at his unit, he met like-minded individuals and started participating in group Bible studies.

Although he has a large sentence, Adrian has remained humble and optimistic for our future. Going from a street-gang banging-drug addict mentality to one of compassion, empathy, self-love / self-care, and of a sober mind, Adrian realized that he had never given himself the opportunity to live to his full potential. Through self-discipline, extreme faith, daily prayer, a new perspective on life, staying sober and staying out of trouble Adrian stayed consistent and became addicted to wanting a new life through Christ. He uplifted me every day from behind bars, as he fought alongside me as I struggled with my addiction and mental health issues. We got married on January 11, 2022, at Connally Unit and I got sober...

His strong belief in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit has allowed Adrian to be compassionate towards his fellow brothers in white and began leading them to Christ. He is one of the four founding members of the Cristeros-Kolbe Chapter at Connally Unit expanding off of the original Cristeros Brothers from McConnell Unit. I run their FB page and FB private group aimed to bring unity through Christ to the families out here while they bring together their brothers behind bars.

Fast Forward to February 2024, Adrian is under parole review with Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. And just like any other family who has a loved one incarcerated, our hearts hurt without him, and our family needs him home! I moved myself from El Paso to San Antonio/Austin area to be closer to my husband. Adrian’s immense growth and dedication is driven by his love for our family. When times get tough, my husband ALWAYS picks me up and reminds me to pray and most importantly NEVER LOSE FAITH! His positivity and NEED to ensure that we rebuild our lives on a SOLID foundation is contagious and is my motivation. He truly has inspired me and others to do better and be better! I needed to be closer to see him weekly, to feel him when we hug, and his kisses still give me butterflies in my stomach.

He has maintained his sobriety for 4 years straight now, was a mentor for Campus Culture, received his line class change to G2 almost a year early, he is working for the laundry department and using that opportunity to uplift other inmates as he delivers supplies to them, he was confirmed by the San Antonio Archbishop in 2023, he is mentoring a Cristero Novice who converted from Judaism to Catholicism, was moved to the dorms and selected to participate in the Peer Specialist Program which he going through the training right now for.

Adrian was originally supposed to receive a 10-year sentence for Non- Aggravated, Non- Violent Charges that had No Victim or Any Other Parties Involved.

But the day of sentencing in June 2019, he showed up and then left the courthouse after speaking to his attorney and tried speaking to the trial judge but was denied.

Later that afternoon he was habitualized and sentenced in ABSENTIA to 50 years for each charge to run concurrent with one another.

The specifics as to why and what led to Adrian not being present at court can't be discussed at this moment due to the fact that we are still trying to fight to get his sentence reduced!

We had hired an Attorney to file an Appeal for a Sentence Reduction and Adrian was Resentenced in ABSENTIA and his sentence remained the same.

In Order to Fight his Sentence, the fee for the lawyer is $20,000 - $25,000.

WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR MONETARY DONATIONS!!!!!
