The Boris Kagarlitsky International Solidarity Campaign is asking supporters to help us get #FreeBoris trending across social media on June 1.

Russian anti-war activist and sociologist Boris Kagarlitsky will have his final appeal heard by the Judicial Collegium for Military Personnel of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation on June 5.

Currently, he is facing the prospects of five years in jail simply for holding anti-war views. But with your help we hope he can walk out of court a free man — just as he did at his first trial after our initial campaign.

So far we have collected more than 17,000 names from more than 100 countries calling for the release of Kagarlitsky and all Russian anti-war political prisoners. But we know we can get many more signatures.

That is why we are asking you to support Kagarlitsky by posting once — or, better yet, several times — on social media (X, Instagram, Facebook, etc) using the hashtag #FreeBoris on June 1.

You could share our petition or an article about or by Kagarlitsky. You might also share a personal message or anecdote about why you think he should be released. Or you may want to use the opportunity to highlight the cases of other Russian anti-war political prisoners.

Just make sure to add the hashtag #FreeBoris (along with any other hashtag you might find appropriate, such as #FreeAntiWarPrisoners)

Every post will not only hopefully help get #FreeBoris trending but will also increase awareness about Kagarlitsky’s plight and that of Russian anti-war political prisoners.

With less than a week to Kagarlitsky’s appeal, let’s build up as much pressure as possible to demand: #FreeBoris
